Today’s HMS Bounty was built as an ocean-faring vessel in 1960 for the movie Mutiny on the Bounty, the famous story of the British crew who overthrew Captain Bligh in order to remain in the islands of the Pacific, rather than return to England. Click Here for more information.

CALIFORNIAN
Californian is 141 feet long. She carries 7000 sq feet of sail on two masts, which rise 100 feet above her deck. She has a maximum speed of about 12 knots under sail. She is owned and operated by the Maritime Museum of San Diego, who uses her for a variety of dockside and at sea educational programs along with public adventure sails ranging from a half-day to more than a week. Her annual tour of the California coast each summer offers residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy the State's one and only Official Tall Ship. Click Here for more information. IRVING johnson
Irving Johnson is named in honor of Irving Johnson's wife and travel companion. Identified by a red stripe along her side, Irving Johnson was completed and entered service with the Los Angeles Maritime Institute in April, 2003. Irving is currently on a series of local sail training trips as her crew prepare for a busy summer in the TopSail Youth Program. Click Here for more information.

sEAWARD
Seaward is an 82’ classic staysail schooner built in 1988 for both comfortable charters in protected waters and for rigorous offshore sailing. She is annually inspected and certified by the U.S. Coast Guard as a passenger vessel for voyages up to 200 miles offshore from Alaska to Panama. The Spirit of Dana Point is a traditionally built replica of a 1770s privateer employed during the American Revolution. She is classified as a 118-foot’ topsail schooner, with a sparred length of 118 feet and 5,000 square feet of sail. She was launched in 1983. Her design, known for speed, precedes the Baltimore Clipper, enabling these vessels to be used for smuggling, the slave trade, and privateering. Click Here for more information.

The newly designed 87' Coastal Patrol Boat has several enhancements over the aging 82s, including improved mission sea keeping abilities (up to sea state 5), significantly upgraded habitability, and compliance with all current and projected environmental protection laws. It also employs an innovative stern launch and recovery system using an Aluminum hulled inboard diesel powered waterjet small boat.
